A short history
Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar debuted in December 1921 in high relief. The relief was lowered in 1922 for production efficiency, and coins were struck through 1928 and again in 1934–1935.
The reverse eagle holding an olive branch with the word PEACE below made this the first US coin to explicitly proclaim peace.

Same silver content as the Morgan — 26.73 grams of 90% silver, about three-quarters of a troy ounce of pure silver.
