Sterling flatware (marked .925 or STERLING) is 92.5% silver by weight, but the handles on knives are usually hollow and filled with cement or resin. Silverplate (marked IS, EPNS, A1, or 'silverplate') has no meaningful silver content and is generally not something we buy. When in doubt, bring it in — we'll test at no charge.
90% silver coins and junk silver
US dimes, quarters, and half dollars minted 1964 and earlier are 90% silver. Kennedy half dollars from 1965–1970 are 40% silver and evaluated separately.
